This anime tells us the story of Ashito Aoi, a young boy who is studying at Ehime City Middle School. His encounter with Tatsuya Fukuda a football coach. The coach sees great potential in him to become a football player.

The anime starts in a rural town’s junior high school where Ashito is popular for his football skill. He is the only star player on his Junior high school football team.

During the gameplay of the school preliminary tournament, an opponent takes the advantage of Ashito’s short-tempered attitude.

Ashito loses his control and acts violently, his actions resulting in the cause of the team’s failure. He got disqualified for the rest of the football matches. After the elimination of their one and only star player, the team becomes weak and sooner loses the tournament.

Later on, Tatsuya Fukuda (a youth team coach) approches Ashito. Tatsuya calls him for tryouts in Tokyo City. Tatsuya sees the great potential in Ashito.

Ao Ashi and Days both are football-based anime, but the protagonists are very different from each other. Ashito is a skilled and very talented football player, on the other hand, Tsukushi is not an extremely talented player but works hard in order to improve his game.

Days anime follows the story of Tsukushi Tsukamoto who is a very shy boy who begins to start high school. He makes his decision will join Seiseki High School because he wants to be with Sayuri Tachibana a childhood friend of Tsukamoto.

One day Jin Kazama save him from bullies and ask him to join a futsal match because they were short with one player. As he was bad at playing football still he did his 100% in that match even after getting injured.

His team members get motivated after seeing his dedication of Tsukamoto to the game. His great hard work and continuous practice led him to join the Seiseki High Football Club with Kazama.

East Tokyo United (ETU) recruit Takeshi Tatsumi as a manager so that they can break the curse of poor performance. At a young age, Tatsumi leaves ETU but he proved himself after becoming the manager of England’s lower division amateur teams.

Tatsumi’s work is not going to be easy because even the fans of ETU call him a traitor because he left the team years ago. Apart from that ETU is also lacking sufficient budget and skilled players.

In his school, he is also bullied by some students on daily basis. One day when he was beaten by those bullies, a professional boxer (Mamoru Takamura) saw him and take to his gym so that his wound can be cured.

Once Ippo wakes up, Mamoru Takamura asks him to punch the sandbag in order to get rid of his frustrations. As soon he starts punching, Mamoru and other fellow boxer are fully socked by his powerful punches. He starts training with Mamoru.

Both anime are mostly focused on sports, especially the main characters are having more affection for sports. They have to leave their hometown and come to Tokyo to play at a higher level. Both the MCs are very similar to each other.

This anime follows the story of Eijun Sawamura, who has an extraordinary pitching style. In middle school, Sawamura’s team lost his final match. After that defeat, Sawamura and other team members take a vow that in high school they will definitely reach the national tournament.

The situation completely changes when he gets an invitation to join Seidou High School because of his incredible pitching style. His teammates encourage him to accept their invitation.

He accepts the invitation and is ready to upgrade his skill and competition. Now his target is to become the ace of Seidou High School.

The most similar thing is that both anime are made by Production I.G. Main protagonist Hinata’s behavior and nature are very similar to Ashito. They both are very hardworking and talented.

A middle school student Hinata Shouyou suddenly fell in love with volleyball after watching the national championship match. He makes up his mind that one day he become a star player in this game.

His dream led him to join the school’s volleyball club. Unfortunately, they don’t have enough players to practice volleyball. In the final year of Junior High, some of Hinata’s friends also joined the volleyball so that the Volleyball club can be eligible to participate in the tournament.

In the first game, their team has brutally defeated by Tobio Kageyama’s team. Tobio himself know as the “The King of the Court” because of his excellent play style and highly skilled movers. After that defeat, Hinata takes a vow that he will defeat Tobio Kageyama in high school.
